Individuals: hunger for God
Intro
Sometimes people get used to living in spiritual poverty, because they don't know anything else. However the Lord has put a deep need for Him, in the heart of every man, woman and child. In prayer, we can ask the Lord to stir up this yearning, and prepare the way for His powerful message of reconciliation and restored relationship.
Scripture
1 Cor 8:5-6 For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.
Prayer
Lord, I thank You that You are the God of truth, and that Your word says, "you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." Thank You for the freedom that You bring in every area of our lives. Right now I ask You to release a yearning and a restlessness within the Pakhiwara of Pakistan, a real spiritual hunger that won't settle for a substitute.
Lord, I ask that this yearning would be so strong, that they would be willing to embrace any change or to venture any risk necessary, in order to encounter the Truth. Let them be like the man who found the "pearl of great price," willing to pay everything he had to buy it. I thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayer, and for the hunger You are stirring in the hearts of the Pakhiwara of Pakistan right now.
